Monday, June 27, 2016 Beautiful photo of bride breastfeeding during her wedding ceremony goes viral

Christina Torino-Benton, 30, decided to feed her nine-month-old daughter Gemma during her wedding ceremony to childhood sweetheart Danny Benton on June 18. The couple’s friends and family are used to seeing Gemma being breastfed, so no one commented and the priest simply carried on with the ceremony at the Resurrection of Our Lord Church in Lachine.

Unknown to the bride, her photographer Lana Nimmons captured the beautiful moment. Torino-Benton loved how the image came out and shared it on the popular Facebook group Breastfeeding Mama Talk, inspiring other women to leave supportive comments and share their own stories and images of breastfeeding on their wedding day.

Torino-Benton, from Montreal, Quebec, told the Daily Mail: “At the church it was like 40 degrees, Gemma was hot, she missed her nap and was overall really crabby.

"I don't pump or bottle feed and I'm all about secure attachment parenting. She's never left to cry so when she started crying I couldn't focus on my wedding. All I was thinking about was taking her and nursing because I knew that was the only solution. Once I got her in my arms, I was able to calm down and focus. A lot of people think that my feeding her mid ceremony was a bother but actually it was nice having her up there with us."

The mother of two captioned her photo: "Talk about feeding anytime and anywhere. That moment when you’re getting married and your baby gets hungry. Feeling SO proud of myself!"

She didn't imagined that the picture would be shared thousands of times.
"I never expected it to go viral like this. I thought I'd get a few likes from my breastfeeding peers and that's that. I think sharing photos like this is important. Things like this do happen. I'm not the first and I won't be the last and hopefully people will be more accepting and understanding."

The response has been largely positive, with Instagram users calling it ‘the most beautiful wedding photo I’ve ever seen’. It’s also encouraged other women to share pictures of themselves breastfeeding at their weddings.

MESSI RETIRES FROM INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALL

Lionel Messi says his Argentina career is over after Copa América final defeat

Argentina captain misses penalty in shootout defeat to Chile
Sergio Agüero says he and other players are also considering future

Lionel Messi has said his international career is over at the age of 29 after he blazed a penalty over the bar in Argentina’s defeat in the Copa América final to Chile.
The Argentina captain missed his spot-kick in the decisive shootout at Met Life Stadium, which Chile went on to win 4-2 and secure a second Copa crown in two years, and was disconsolate on the pitch after the game.

“It’s tough, it’s not the time for analysis,” he said. “In the dressing room I thought that this is the end for me with the national team, it’s not for me. That’s the way I feel right now, it’s a huge sadness once again and I missed the penalty that was so important.
“I tried so hard to be [a] champion with Argentina. But it didn’t happen. I couldn’t do it. I think it’s best for everyone, for me and for many people who want it. The choice for me is over, it is a decision. I tried many times [to be a champion] but did not.”
Sergio Agüero and other Argentina players could now follow Messi’s lead, with the Manchester City forward telling Olé: “The likelihood is that Messi is not the only one that will leave the national team. There are several players like me that are evaluating whether or not to continue.
“One doesn’t want to think about it but at times, there are things that happen and the thought [of retiring] comes into your mind. Afterwards, it’s difficult to get it out. Unfortunately, the one that leaves most affected is Leo Messi after his penalty miss. This is the worst that I’ve seen him in the changing room. We are all affected and we will try to think about something else and move forward. Again, luck was not on our side.”
The defeat continued Argentina’s 23-year trophyless run and Messi’s own personal misery now extends to four lost finals with the national side – at the 2014 World Cup against Germany and at three Copa Américas, in 2007, 2015 and now 2016.
Argentina coach Gerardo Martino said: “The burden of the consecutive games [lost] has been accumulating these last two years. He feels like you would expect a player to feel after playing and losing a final.”

UNN POST UME 2016

UNN Post Utme 2016 – BASIC THINGS YOU MUST KNOW

Despite our efforts to keep everyone properly informed about 2016 UNN Post Utme via theUnnInfo Official Facebook Group, we have continued to get numerous calls/mails from aspirants claiming they are still “confused” about the status of 2016 Post Utme.
Truly, the ministry of education’s statement that “Post Utme is cancelled but schools can screen their candidates” has created quite a lot of uncertainties.
We will however once again address most of your concerns using the points below;
  1. This is not the first time a situation like this has occurred in the Nigerian education sector and certainly may not be the last.
  2. Irrespective of what it is termed, Post Utme or Screening, UNN will certainly screen her aspirants to determine who will be admitted into the institution, and not JAMB.
  3. In the past, UNN Post Utme/Screening usually held around July every year. But, there is no information yet on this year’s schedule. Keep looking out for information on that any moment from now.
  4. The worst thing that will happen to you as an aspirant is to live under the illusion that post utme will not hold only to wake up and find out that it is just a week away.
In general, we advise you remain focused. Channel your thoughts to the fact that the exam will still hold. Get the necessary materials that you need and as a smart student, sit down and study. You have nothing to loose by doing so.
UNNINFO wishes you the very best!

ARGENTINA'S KEY PLAYER INJURED

Argentina's Ezequiel Lavezzi to have surgery on Friday in New York

Anthony Richardson recaps the Copa America Centenario semifinals, including the most memorable moments from Houston and  Chicago.
Argentina forward Ezequiel Lavezzi will have surgery on Friday in New York for the broken left elbow he suffered during the 4-0 Copa America Centenario semifinal win over the United States, team doctor Donato Villani said.
Lavezzi scored the opener for Argentina, heading home from a Lionel Messi pass into the penalty area to get his team on the scoresheet in the third minute.
In the second half, however, Lavezzi fell over a sideline billboard while chasing an overhead pass and broke his fall with his left arm, then immediately grabbed it with the other hand as he writhed in pain. Trainers ran to him quickly and he was soon taken away by medical personnel.
Villani told ESPN Radio in Argentina that the team wanted to get the surgery done as soon as possible and that the 31-year-old will be attended by Dr. Robert Hotchkiss at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York.

MARADONA in morale boost.....

Diego Maradona to Argentina in Copa final: Win or don't return

Argentina legend Diego Maradona has said that the Albiceleste should win Sunday's Copa America Centenario final against Chile in New Jersey, but warned his compatriots that if they lose they should not return home.
Argentina advanced to the tournament decider with a 4-0 victory over the United States as Lionel Messi became the nation's all-time leading scorer.Messi has now scored more goals for Argentina (38) as captain than Maradona (34) did in his entire Argentina career.
Argentina are out to clinch their first continental title since 1993, this time in a rematch against the same side that beat them on penalties in last year's final.
Maradona, who led the Argentines to World Cup glory in 1986, told C5N on Wednesday: "Of course I think we'll win."
But he also issued a warning to Tata Martino's men: "But if you don't win, don't come back."
On the 30th anniversary of his famous solo goal against England at Mexico '86, Maradona looked back on the strike.
"[England defender Terry] Butcher gave me a real big kick," he recalled. "But when I saw the ball going in it stopped hurting right away. It was a dream goal."

COPA AMERICA THIRD PLACE

Copa America third-place game: Tim Howard returns for United States-Colombia

United States vs. Colombia in Glendale, Ariz., 8 p.m. (FX, Univision)
The United States men’s national team will end the Copa America Centenario the way it started: with a game against Colombia. But it will hope not to endexactly the way it started: with a loss against Colombia.
One change is guaranteed: Tim Howard, the Americans’ 2014 World Cup hero, will be between the sticks. “He has been outstanding to help the team go all the way through in this tournament, helping Brad Guzan wherever he could, keeping the spirit very positive and pushing from behind,” Coach Jurgen Klinsmann said at a Friday news conference.
The move is not a statement, Klinsmann insisted, but Howard will be a welcome sight nonetheless for many after Guzan’s blunder on Argentina’s opener Tuesday sent the United States on its way to a semifinal loss — and a berth in this game instead of Sunday’s Final.
Who will shield Howard is unclear. Center back John Brooks, who submitted four gigantic performances in this tournament, and Fabian Johnson, a midfielder at club-level shoehorned into left back here, each entered the Copa with slight injuries, and Klinsmann said he had not yet decided whether they would start. With two key World Cup qualifiers set for September, there would seem to be little incentive to take the risk.
Colombia could be of a similar mind. Standout midfielder James Rodriguez went down with an injury the last time these teams met, and though he hasn’t sat out a full game since, Los Cafeteros’ own looming qualifiers mean he might be best off on the sidelines for this one.
The question, in the end, is one of motivation. Klinsmann is no longer coaching for his job; the U.S. and Colombia are no longer playing for a title. If nothing else, redemption calls.
“There’s disappointment that you get to a semifinal and you never really give your chance to settle in and really let the game play out,” U.S. captain Michael Bradley said. “That part is disappointing, but I think when you look back, in large part it’s been a very positive few weeks.
“I think every guy to a man should feel proud of what went into it. We’ll see if we can finish that off on a positive note.”

Former Super Eagles Chief Coach, Stephen Okechukwu Keshi, is dead. Keshi, former Captain and Coach of the Super Eagles until recently died at the age of 54.
The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) confirmed his death on his twitter handle, @thenff.
“Former Nigeria Captain and Coach, Stephen Keshi, is dead. Reports say the legend died in the early hours of Wednesday, RIP Big Boss”.
Assistant Secretary, Communications of the NFF, Ademola Olajire, said Keshi died after he was rushed to the hospital in Benin after he complained of pains in his legs which made it difficult for him to stand.
Keshi was also said to have complained of irregular heart beats.
Keshi was the only member of the Super Eagles team that led the team as a captain and later coach.
He led the Super Eagles to win the African Cup of nations in Tunisia in 1994 and later as a coach in 2014.
He also led the team as a player to the 1994 World Cup in the United States.

Former Super Eagles’ Coach, Stephen Keshi, died before he arrived Faith Mediplex, the hospital he was rushed to on Tuesday night, his brother in-law, Richard Aburime, has said.
The former captain and coach of the senior national died at the age of 54 on Tuesday.
Narrating Mr. Keshi’s last days on earth to journalists in Benin, the Edo State capital on Wednesday, Mr. Aburime said the late coach had a history of leg pains following years of successful professional football, which was usually managed with massaging.
He said following his last complains and subsequent massaging, Mr. Keshi’s body system and health suddenly degenerated as a result of which he was at about 11.30pm rushed to the hospital, which is about 20 minutes’ drive from his residence at Giwa Amu area of Government Reserved Area in Benin City.
“He had complained of pains in his leg for some days and they kept massaging it for him. When he complained of it yesterday, they massaged it for him again,” Mr. Aburime recounted.
“About one and half hours after the massaging, he was in serious distress and was gasping for breath. That was how we rushed him to the hospital, a distance of about 20 minutes.”
“But by the time he arrived at the hospital, the doctor certified him dead on arrival. That was between 11:30 and 11:45 pm.”
“It was the nurse that first came out. She checked for pulse‎ and said there was no more pulse in him. Doctors later came and do all the stuffs they do; but nothing came out of it.”

World Cup 2018: Nigeria, Algeria and Cameroon all drawn to play each other in African qualifiers

The draw for the African section of qualifying for the 2018 World Cup in Russia has been made.
Nigeria, Algeria and Cameroon, who all took part in the last tournament in Brazil two years ago, have all been drawn into the same group, meaning only one of the countries will reach the competition next time around.
Nigeria and Algeria enjoyed successful tournaments as they both reached the last 16 stage in Brazil, while Cameroon were eliminated at the group stage having lost all three of their matches.
However, the tables have been turned in the 24 months since the last World Cup, and it is Nigeria and Algeria whose outlooks are bleakest.
Both teams are currently without managers, while Cameroon have lost just two of their last 13 matches.
They are joined in Group B by Zambia.

Ghana, who have also qualified for the last three tournament finals, will be up against Egypt in Group E as well as Congo and Uganda.
Egypt have been crowned continental champions more times than any other country but only played at the 1934 and 1990 World Cup, an increasing source of frustration for the country.
Senegal are the top seeds in Group F where their principle opposition is likely to come from 2010 World Cup hosts South Africa. Burkina Faso and the Cape Verde Islands are in the same group.
